Creating A Popular Proxy Network

Creating A Popular Proxy Network
By Ross J Johnson

I recently sold my network of proxy websites for $x,xxx and a lot of people have asked how I managed to make them so popular, so I thought I would make a quick article explaining the steps I took while building my websites.

  • Quality over Quantity

  • Search Engine Optimizing

  • Monetizing your proxy websites

  • Advertising your website

Quality over Quantity
My network consisted of just 4 websites, however I spent many hours on each one of them and was quickly worth more then a friends network of over 100 proxies. Each website had a unique design, and each one was optimized for different keywords.

Search Engine Optimizing
Unlike most proxy owners I spent a lot of time optimising my websites for search engines, the best thing you can do is choose a search phrase that you think someone will actually search for, such as “youtube proxy” and base your website around it. You should also have a section on your front page explaining what a proxy website is and how to use it, as most proxy websites are simply a URL form this will help distinguish your proxy website from everyone else’s.

Monetizing your proxy websites
If you plan on making any sort of revenue from your website you need to know where to put your ads to get the most amount of clicks. First put a 468*60 ad directly above and below your proxy bar, try not to make the ads stand out too much. You will also need some keywords for the ads to be targeted at, so a nice description about the website with some high paying keywords. (edit: I wouldn’t recommend using adsense on your proxy website, a lot of people have been loosing there accounts, instead you should try, Adversal Pop Ups)

Advertising your proxy websites
There literally hundreds of proxy topsites out there, so sign up to as many as possible and get your code on your site (preferably at the bottom as sometimes it can slow the loading of your website drastically). You should also submit to directories and proxy.org, if you don’t get accepted then you could always pay for a listing, this will cost just $20 and is definitely worth the money.

Proxy Scripts in Practice

Proxy Scripts in Practice
By Ahsan Mahmud

Hello everyone. I am here to tell you some facts about the proxy facts. Why they are favourite and what are their facts. We all know there are many proxy scripts around. But I think the best is PHProxy which I am using in my site. But the problem is they are discontinued. So sad. If you are having trouble selecting your proxy scripts then read below.

There are mainly two proxy scripts using around. One is PHProxy and the other is CGIproxy. Well let me describe the advantages of them. Listen and choose carefully. It is great for surfing. It is fast and user friendly. It is massively used because of its great advantages. It loads the pages fast and caches up. It eats up less bandwidths then the others. So this is great if you are planning to target the surfing company in the net.

CGIproxy on the other hand great for logging in. It has a great cookie system with what users can login with their account quickly and fastly as possible. It eats up more bandwidth then PHProxy.

There are a lot of more proxy scripts as I know such as zelune, power proxy. But I these these two are the best. They will look more cool if you embed them with your own templates. If you cant make the templates then you can use free ones available around. Just search proxy templates in Google. Simple.

That's all. Target your users wisely. If you want to see more examples visit my site.

Hey ya. I am Ahsan and if you can please visit my personal website: http://www.proxiedme.com/

Making Net-surfing as Easy as Pie

Making Net-surfing as Easy as Pie
By Ajeet Khurana

The Internet is truly a near-miracle. It connects us to people all over the world. It allows us to view information that we would otherwise have no access to. Using it is probably easier than "easy as pie". And one of the things that helps us access the Internet, is the proxy server.

A proxy server is something like an intermediary between the computer you are using and the server that you are trying to access. This concept becomes easier to understand once you think about how it works. Suppose there is a website that is accessed frequently from a particular computer. This site gets saved in the cache of the proxy server. So the next time that somebody tries to view that website, the page is pulled up from this cache.

The advantage of this style of functioning is that the process is speeded up. This is because the proxy server does not need to go to the real server of that website to view it. The site has already been placed in the proxy server's cache.

Web proxies are proxy servers that limit their job to the Internet. Sometimes web proxies are used to block websites that are provocative or offensive. They also serve another, perhaps more important, function of blocking viruses that may be present on the webpages that are being viewed. In fact, a number of organizations make use of proxy servers to perform these very functions. A company could even block its employees from viewing a particular website by making use of a proxy server. Notably, the user himself is usually unaware of the work being done by the proxy server.

There are many other kinds of proxy servers that are found on the Internet. These include transparent proxies, split proxies and reverse proxies. Open proxies are proxy servers that are popular with spammers and Internet Relay Chat users.

There is also something called an anonymous proxy server. This helps provide anonymity, and hence, privacy, to the user. It does this by hiding the IP address of the user. As a result, the number of junk mails and spam that one would otherwise get flooded with are considerably reduced. It is good to use an anonymous proxy server because it keeps you protected from hackers.

There is a lot more to proxy servers than this. But the next time you are able to quickly access your favorite webpage, I'm sure you'll be blessing your proxy server even while the page loads!

The author Ajeet Khurana recommends Squid Myspace Proxy, Web Messenger, and Unlock Myspace.

Bypass your School and Work Filters with an Anonymous Proxy Server

Bypass your School and Work Filters with an Anonymous Proxy Server
By Stephen Avery

With the proliferation of the Internet, many websites promote themselves by sending you spam junk mails, advertisings and even embed spyware that is difficult to remove onto your computer. These things not only keep track of your personal information, but also enable hackers and crackers to infiltrate your system. Anonymous proxy servers act as a wall between your data and the Internet, whereby providing security to your system and data. There are however, other reasons to use an anonymous proxy server.

If your work or school has any type of filtering in place to prevent people from visiting certain websites, an anonymous proxy server is a great way to get around such restrictions. Anonymous proxy servers work by acting as a "middle man"; they download the requested pages to their proxy server and in turn you download the page, all images and other such objects from the proxy server to your browser, thus bypassing any filters or annoying firewalls. Not only is this a viable alternative for students to bypass their school's filter to access such popular student sites such as Myspace or Xanga but can be used if your workplace has strict limitations on which websites you can access. Most anonymous proxy bypass servers use one of two program, PHProxy or CGIProxy, both of which are excellent proxy software packages.

After you have discovered the benefits of using anonymous proxy servers, you will probably want to try it out. There are numerous free proxy services out there, one of the most popular is SpySurfing ( http://www.spysurfing.com/ ) and is a really fast proxy server that is popular among both students look to bypass their school filters and adults looking to bypass their work place firewalls.

Using Proxies Online

Using Proxies Online
By Alexandru Ion

A proxy is an IP (internet protocol) that you can use while you surf to hide yours. Practically is a server with an internet connection with a configured proxy software usually running on linux.
The usual ports for proxy are 80 and 3124-3128 and the most proxies can be found in United States Of America and Russia. You surf the internet through that server. You send requests to it and it gives you back the results (websites, most often).

It is really simple and a PHP or CGI proxy can be installed in 2 minutes. See an example on http://www.proxyloop.com
That`s the reason that there are thousands of proxy websites. But that is not a bad think, because there is variety and variety is good.

My recommendation is to start using proxy to protect your anonymity and privacy. I don`t think you want others to know what websites you are surfing.
Also proxies are absolutely legal, but only if you use them in legal ways. You should never use a proxy for internet fraud or other illegal or immoral purposes.
A proxy could also help you to visit or join a website that your own ip is banned. Or you could visit websites that simply don`t allow your country.

The PHP proxies are web proxy scripts written in php scripting language that are very easy to use. You just have to insert the website`s url in a form and press a button. then you are ready, you are now surfing the desired website using a proxy and having a protected anonymity and privacy.
CGI proxy is almost the same as PHP, but is a bit more complex and is written in CGI scripting language. It is a good proxy and helps very much for you to be anonymous.

You can even surf websites without their owners knowing you are using a proxy.

As this is the most easy to use proxy, i recommend to start using it. It has only a few bad sides, first one is that you have a frame sometimes with ads.

There are 3 types of proxy, but only 2 of them differ more:

* Browser proxy

* CGI proxy

* PHP proxy

PHP and CGI proxies are basically the same, only the programming/scripting language differs. There is a form where you insert the link of the website you want to visit and you are ready.

The browser proxy requires you to set some settings in the browser, including adding a proxy address and a port ( e.g 127.0.0.1:80 )
